Themes of Genre

    My short film is a drama but, the theme of my genre is sci-fi. I chose sci-fi because my film is about a high schooler who is stuck in a loop. The main character goes through their day, but once they wake up it's the same day. Sci-fi was the perfect theme for my film, it is a fictional story that deals with an imaginative concept. Waking up on the same day isn't something that would normally happen but the main character needs to go through this never-ending cycle. Without this cycle, the main character wouldn't be able to find the bigger picture and experience of high school.

Story Patterns

    As viewers watch my film they will see story patterns. These patterns are going to be when the character wakes up and how some people act. I will have my actors say the same lines and act the same each day unless the main character does something completely different. For example, the first day the main character wakes up will be like a normal day for them because they are unaware that they are stuck in a loop. It is not till the main character realizes that they are in a never-ending cycle and then that's when they will start acting differently from how they normally act. The reason they will do this is that they want a different outcome than from the last day.
